David Gibbs is an American football coach who is currently the defensive coordinator at the University of Missouri. He was born on December 22, 1970, in Lubbock, Texas. Gibbs played college football as a defensive back at the University of Colorado from 1990 to 1994.
After his playing career ended, Gibbs started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Colorado. He then went on to coach at various colleges, including the University of Minnesota, Auburn University, the University of Houston, and Texas Tech University.
Gibbs has coached defense at both the college and professional level. He has been a defensive coordinator at the University of Houston, Texas Tech University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of California, Berkeley. He also served as the linebackers coach for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.
Throughout his coaching career, Gibbs has been known for his aggressive and attacking defensive style. He has a reputation for developing strong relationships with his players and has been praised for his ability to motivate and inspire them.
